The Animal Research Center is a 400 m² facility, encompassing specialized rooms for the breeding of rats, mice, rabbits and monkeys. At capacity the facility can house 7000 mice, 750 rats, 60 rabbits and 12 monkeys.

The Center is separated into a hi-grade (SPF) clean grade and standard areas. The ultra clean area is maintained by positive pressure ventilation. The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation to allow detailed cardiovascular evaluation in both large (dogs, monkeys) and small animals (rodents, rabbits). This includes an ultrasonograph, ECGs, micromanometric equipment for determination of cardiac and systemic hemodynamic etc. The Center is managed by professional staff with specific expertise in research animal house management and animal husbandry.

The entire facilities including its breeding operations have been accredited by the Experimental Animal Quality Inspection Department, Shanghai City. The Center has also been certified by the Shanghai Experimental Animal Regulation Committee (Experimental Animal Usage Certificate No. SYXK (Hu)2002-0030), including specific approval for primate housing and research.

Cell Culture Facility

Managed and maintained by professional staff, this facility is consistently maintained at the highest grade of cleanliness. It consists of two experiment rooms and an observation room. It is equipped with reversed phase contrast microscopes, fluorescence microscopes, an electrical transfection apparatus, CO₂ incubators, super-clean work-benches, and many cell types from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC). Experiments such as the culture of primary cells and cell lines, screening of hybridomas cells, transient transfections, screening of stable cell lines, in vitro cell growth inhibition experiments, etc, are routinely performed in the facility.

Zensun's Pilot Production Center is staffed by a team of experienced and entrepreneurial scientists, is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and is maintained to provide the highest quality control.

With a GLP standard production area of 200 m², the Center consists of a 100,000^th grade fermentation room, a purification room with a 10,000^th grade area, and a 10,000^th grade pharmacology preparation room, part of which is 100^th grade.

The Center contains a complete set of the most advanced production equipment for the manufacture of genetically engineering protein products, including two Bio-fermentation tanks (19 and 5 liters) with a high-density fermentation capability of 90 grams of Escherichia coli per liter. There also are two AKTA protein purification systems, which presently can purify up to 2g protein per 15-liter fermentation batch. A freeze dryer located in a 0.4 m² freezing area is capable of lyophilizing 1500 ampules per batch.
